PANAJI: BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade today said that candidates for the Lok Sabha Polls in Goa will be finalised after the declaration of elections.
“Candidates for the Lok Sabha Polls in Goa will be finalised after the declaration of elections. I am confident that BJP will win both North and South Goa Lok Sabha polls,” said Tanavade.
He further said that he is ready to go to the Rajya Sabha if the party gives him an opportunity.
“Definitely, if the party wants me to go, I will go. My party workers may also want me to go as Rajya Sabha MP. But, it has to come from the party,” he said.
No one has told me anything officially though, he asserted.
Tanavade has also expressed his belief that he will win the South Goa seat with a margin of at least 30,000 votes in next year’s Lok Sabha elections.
In the last Lok Sabha elections, Shripad Naik of BJP was elected from North Goa and Francis Sardinha of Congress was elected from South Goa.
BJP has already started preparations for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
As part of the same preparation, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting at Fonda and announced the election. He also expressed his belief that BJP will win both seats.
