PANAJI: Revenue Minister and Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate has expressed unhappiness over the delays of various projects in the city while directing Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Ltd (IPSCDL) officials to replace all missing and defective components.
“I have directed the Panaji Smart City officials to replace all missing and defective components across the city. I am unhappy with the paver blocks laid at the Bal Bhavan junction at Campal and have complained to PWD minister Nilesh Cabral about it,” said Monserrate.
He further said that the quality of the footpath that they are laying at Bal Bhavan is bad while claiming that the earlier quality was better.
Monserrate said that CCP cannot be held accountable for the quality and maintenance of Smart City projects if they are not handed over to the civic body.
“Beautification work of promenade at Miramar which is being carried out under the Smart City Mission through the PWD appointed contractor is nearing completion,” he added.
The MLA said that once it is ready, it will be inaugurated and handed over to the CCP for maintenance.
Meanwhile, Monserrate said that his government will construct a public toilet between Dona Paula Circle and to Goa Science Centre stretch and added that a location will be soon identified for the same.
