HYDERABAD: TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA is leading on 150 out of 175 assembly seats in trends and may oust Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP from power in the state. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is taking the lead from the Pulivendla Assembly seat and Jan Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is ahead of his rival from the Pithapuram Assembly seat. The counting of seats is currently underway.
The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is likely to win 19-22 of the 25 seats in Andhra Pradesh, according to News18 Mega Exit Poll. According to the survey, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) could win five to eight seats.
Meanwhile, the exit poll results for the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election 2024 have predicted the victory of Chandrababu Naidu-led NDA in the state with over 160 seats of 175 total. The majority mark is 88. According to TV5 Telugu, Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP is likely to win over 161 seats in the state, while YSRCP could get restricted to 14. Andhra Pradesh has a total of 175 seats with 88 being the majority mark.
The key battles in Andhra Pradesh were Rajampet (BJP’s N Kiran Kumar Reddy vs YSRCP’s PV Midhun Reddy), Kadapa (YSRCP’s YS Avinash Reddy vs Congress’s YS Sharmila Reddy vs TDP’s Chadipiralla Bhupesh Reddy), Araku (BJP’s Kothapalli Geetha vs YSRCP’s Chetti Tanuja Rani vs CPIM’s Appala Narsa), Anakapalli (BJP’s CM Ramesh vs YSRCP’s Budi Mutyala Naidu and Congress’s Vegi Venkatesh).
In the 2019 elections, the YSR Congress had swept the state with 151 seats in the 175-member Assembly and 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats. It had received 49.9 per cent (Assembly) and 49.1 per cent (Lok Sabha) vote share.
Voting for the Andhra Pradesh Lok Sabha election and Assembly election was held on May 13 and a voter turnout of 80.66 per cent was recorded.
