CHAPORA: A case has been registered against the owner/manager of Chapora Lane by Welcome Restaurant at Chapora for allegedly violating noise pollution regulations by playing music beyond the permissible time limit.
According to the complaint filed by Sanjeev Joglekar, Senior Environmental Engineer of the Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB), Saligao, the violation was detected prior to October 19, 2026, at the restaurant located on Chapora Lane near Welcome Restaurant, Chapora, Bardez.
The complaint states that the accused, being the owner/manager of the establishment, allegedly contravened the provisions of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000, and the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, by playing music beyond the permitted hours.
The complaint was lodged on October 29, 2026, at 7.16 pm.
