VASCO: Minister Nilesh Cabral said that charging stations in Goa would have the lowest power tariff in the entire country while stating that charging stations would be set up at most fuel pumps in Goa.
“We are tying up with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) for 24 hours green energy in our grid at less rates. We want to make Goa a green energy state by another ten years . We want to make Goa into an energy sector and convert it into a green environment friendly state by bring in three different types of energy like tidal energy, solar energy,” said Cabral
He further said that government will also bring in hybrid energy in the sense of small less velocity windmills and this will be launched within the next one month or so in Goa.
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), India has committed to installing fast charging stations at all fuel pumps across Goa for Electric Vehicles(EV), informed Power Minister Nilesh Cabral.
He said that the state electricity department will charge lowest power tariff in the country for EV charging stations. A decision to this effect has been taken in the cabinet meeting held yesterday, he added.
Cabral also proposed that services of MPT port can be used to unloading CNG carrier ships. “CNG is a non-polluting multi-purpose commodity and the port can be used as a destination for CNG imports,” said Cabral.
“We will promise the people of Goa that Commercial charging stations will have a tariff of around Rs 8 per unit. In Delhi the tariff is around 20 Rs per unit while in Goa it will be hardly Rs 8 per unit. They boast of free 300 units but they don’t know that for the last four years this Government is subsidizing tariff to all section of society for commercial and domestic connections,” Cabral added
