The police said they are committed to bringing the offenders to justice and making sure that such incidences do not damage the mutual respect and values that exist in Goa between the various communities.
“We have no idea of who has done such a monstrous act. Once this incident came to light we immediately called all the Shivpremis here. Also we have not recovered the weapon within the 100 mts radius,” police said.
The locals have demanded that an FIR be filed immediately and the culprits be taken to task at the earliest.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant reacting to the incident said that such incidents are planned to disturb the peace of state.
Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai reacting to incident said that this Goa government is shamefully inadequate not only to protect Goemkars but also our great nationalist heroes like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
“Govt is weak and powerless to protect anyone. This Goa govt is shamefully inadequate not only to protect Goemkars but also our great nationalist heroes like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. I condemn this dastardly attack,” said Sardesai
He further said that they have once again proved to be a miserable failure in performing even their basic duty of offering protection to life and property.
