PANAJI: The Panaji Children’s Court has accepted the Central Bureau of Investigation’s (CBI) closure report in connection with the rape of a minor schoolgirl in a toilet at a school in Vasco.
The case had been investigated by the CBI for several years in an effort to identify and apprehend the person responsible for the alleged offence.
Despite the investigation, the agency was unable to establish the identity of the offender or make an arrest in the case. Following the completion of its investigation, the CBI submitted a closure report before the Children’s Court.
The court has now accepted the closure report, permitting the CBI to close the investigation into the case.
