PANAJI: Panaji Police have registered an FIR against unidentified supporters and protesters of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) for allegedly organising an unauthorised protest at Azad Maidan without prior permission from the competent authority.
According to the complaint lodged by Nilesh A. Salgaonkar, Joint Mamlatdar-III and Executive Magistrate, Tiswadi, the incident occurred on July 20, 2026, at around 7:45 pm at Azad Maidan, Panaji.
Police stated that the accused, whose identities are yet to be established, allegedly formed an unlawful assembly and organised a solidarity march under the pretext of supporting the removal of Sonam Wangchuk from his hunger strike, without obtaining the required permission from the authorities.
The offence was registered at 10:33 pm on July 21, 2026.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Manjunath Naik of Panaji Police Station.
