SANKHALI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday praised the Health Ministry for organising the “Health with Ayurveda” initiative, which focuses on preventive healthcare through check-ups and traditional healing practices.
Speaking at the event, Sawant said dialysis units should not be set up at the panchayat level, noting that such facilities are already available at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and should continue to operate from there for better efficiency and management. He, however, cautioned that the need for dialysis services is steadily rising and requires careful planning to meet future demand.
The Chief Minister also pointed to ongoing research in the medical field and expressed optimism that advancements could lead to an increase in life expectancy in the coming years, stating that those living till 2035 may witness longer lifespans.
Meanwhile, extending birthday greetings to Sawant, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said that Goa has made significant strides in the health sector under his leadership. He added that the Ayurveda camp held in Sankhali would be continued on a sustained basis to benefit more people.
The programme highlighted the government’s dual focus on promoting Ayurveda alongside strengthening modern healthcare infrastructure to address emerging health challenges.
