BARDEZ: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant inaugurated the newly completed Community Centre for Village Panchayat Verla Canca at Canca, Bardez, aimed at providing improved infrastructure and dedicated spaces for community activities and public services.
The facility has been sanctioned under the Deendayal Panchayat Raj Infrastructure Development (Golden Jubilee) Scheme.
The inauguration was held in the presence of Calangute MLA and GSIDC Chairman Michael Lobo, MLA and Goa Tourism Development Corporation Chairman Kedar Naik, Siolim MLA Delilah Lobo and other dignitaries.
During the programme, Sawant also inaugurated Phase I of the Candolim Mangrove Park at Candolim Bridge and laid the foundation stone for Phase II of the project.
The mangrove park initiative is aimed at strengthening environmental conservation while creating a dedicated public space to showcase and promote the importance of Goa’s mangrove ecosystems.
WRD Minister Subhash Shirodkar, Michael Lobo and former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan were among those present at the inauguration and foundation stone ceremony, along with other distinguished guests.
