PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has informed that almost 12 per cent of funds meant for the Tribal Welfare Scheme both from the state and centre have not been utilized.
CM also informed that Tribal Bhavan will be completed within the next 2 years.
“State government, as well as central government, has various welfare schemes for the tribal, but it needs to be communicated to the people, and the beneficiaries should come up front to take the benefits of such schemes,” said CM Sawant, speaking to reporters after laying the foundation stone.
He further said that the state government has not received any application for these schemes from many beneficiaries.
CM Sawant informed that the construction of Tribal Bhavan will be completed in the next two years time.
Minister for Tribal Welfare Govind Gaude said that the project was a long pending demand for the Gomantak Gaud Maratha Samaj, who was handed over 2200 sq mts of communidade land Porvorim for the Bhavan way back in 1997.
He said that the facility will be dedicated only to the tribal community. He said a budgetary provision of Rs 10 crore has been made for the project.
