FATORDA: Indian Tigers Association (Goa) has filed a police complaint against West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee and also in the High Court of Bombay at Goa for showing utter disrespect to the Indian National Anthem under Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 and MHA order of 2015.
“We have filed a police complaint against Mamata Banerjee and also in HC for showing utter disrespect to the Indian National Anthem under Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971 and MHA order of 2015,” said Rahul Shanbag of Indian Tigers Association.
He further said that in such matters and issues of such national interest, dignity, the honour of the nation are concerned, and If given a deaf ear or blind eyes, it may serve and result into causing negative impression on the young minds of our country, which in addition will demoralise the fact of introducing good quality citizens in our motherland.
“We also understand that same cause of action has arisen in Mumbai, which falls out of the jurisdiction of Goa, but we believe that same issue is that of protecting the dignity, honour and respect towards our nation and though India is the union of different states and territories but the basic law of the land is equal to every one of us, and no state or individual person has got any right to harm the integrity, dignity and honour of the nation,” he said.
The Indian Tigers Association has prayed and begged before the HC to impart the right justice to restore down this nation’s high level of dignity and honour. And to affect the strict action against the offender to avoid and prevent such offending acts repetitively.
“Also issue such ordinances and guidelines as to strengthen the protocol attached to the singing of the national anthem, or issue such ordinances which may deem fit and proper to your esteemed kind self,” they said.
