PANAJI: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has accused BJP Minister of sexually exploiting women and forcing her to abort the child after she conceived.
In a press conference held today, Chodankar declined to name the Minister while claiming that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant is aware of the case.
Chodankar also claimed that they have seen the video, WhatsApp messages and audio communication between the Minister and the women.
“The said person is not fit to be an MLA or minister; this is a shame to the state that the CM is not acting on such people,” he said.
The Congress president has set 15 days deadline to take action against the Minister failing, which has threatened to approach appropriate authority.
Chodankar claimed further that the Minister has threatened and blackmailed the woman and forced her to abort the child.
“The Minister is using his powers to exploit the women. We need BJP Chief JP Nadda to act and take action,” he said.
Chodankar further said that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant is well aware of the incident and has even seen the chats, videos and other evidence.
“Instead of acting on the culprit, CM is put to destroy the evidence as per our sources,” he added.
Meanwhile, Goa Congress Mahila President Beena Naik has appealed and demanded that the CM sack the said Minister from the cabinet.
