PANAJI: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has constituted a Chargesheet Committee to prepare a comprehensive document highlighting what it alleges are the failures, corruption, misgovernance, anti-people policies, broken promises and administrative lapses of the BJP government in Goa.
The chargesheet will form the basis of the Congress party’s statewide campaign during the Goem Rakhon Yatra, which aims to take the party’s message to people across Goa.
The committee will be chaired by Sunil Kawthankar and includes Rahul Mahambrey, C.A., Adv. Amit Ashok Palekar, Mangaldas V. Naik, Adv. Shashank Narvekar, Rajesh Verenkar, Assiz Noronha, Adv. Archit S. Naik and Dr. Pratiksha N. Khalap as members.
According to the GPCC, the committee has been entrusted with compiling documented evidence and sector-wise reports on the BJP government’s performance. The report will cover issues such as unemployment, inflation, corruption, the drug menace, deterioration of law and order, environmental destruction, land conversion, shortcomings in education and healthcare, infrastructure deficiencies, alleged attacks on democratic institutions and other matters of public concern.
The Congress said the appointments are part of its strategy to build a strong issue-based public movement that will expose the BJP government’s record and take the voice of the people to every village and constituency through the Goem Rakhon Yatra.
To ensure smooth coordination of the yatra across the state, the party has also appointed Working President Sunil Kawthankar as the in-charge for North Goa, while M.K. Shaikh has been entrusted with coordinating the campaign in South Goa.
