MARGAO: South Goa District Congress president Joe Dias has said that it is most unfortunate that the greedy BJP Government which is making “Business of Sickness” and now using Goan’s as Guinea Pigs to push forward the fortune making agenda of Health Minister Vishwajit Rane.
He appealed to people not to endanger their lives by taking Ivermectin tablets without clinical trials.
“It is now clear that Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has not even taken the Indian Medical Association into confidence while taking decision to use Ivermectin tablets as prophylaxis treatment for Covid. Yesterday, Dr Sandip Naik, Spokesperson of IMA-Goa has clearly stated that the government has not taken them into confidence in the said decision and IMA-Goa has not yet given any approval to the said treatment. This is one more slap in the face of irresponsible BJP government which is time and again experimenting with the lives of the people,” Joe Dias said.
He said that World Health Organisation, Dr. Faheem Yonus, Head of Infectious Diseases in Maryland University and various other Scientists and Medical Experts have gone on record advising people not to take Ivermectin 12 mg tablets without clinical trials.
“Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane do not have guts to reveal the names of the experts who advised them to go for this treatment. There is a scam of Rs.22.50 crores which has put both of them in silent mode,” charged Joe Dias.
He said it is shocking to learn that Health Minister has now roped in employees of Women and Child Department and Anganwadi Workers as distribution agents of the Ivermecting tablets. We appeal to them not to become “Partners in Crime” and get involved in the “Sins” of Chief Minister and Health Minister.
“Why Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant and Health Minister or any Government Official is shying away from disclosing whether any tender was floated to procure these tablets? Who was awarded the contract and at what price? We are very much sure that there is a scam and hence BJP government is not giving details,” claimed Joe Dias.
Last year, Ayush Ministry distributed some tablets claiming that consumption of the same will keep Corona away. This propoganda has fallen flat now after second wave of Covid has striked badly. Ministers and BJP Functionaries earned huge money from the procurement of those tablets. Now, another Jumla Campaign is launched by Health Minister with the blessings of Chief Minister to fool the people and make money. Goan’s should stay away from these fake jumla tactics of the BJP Government appealed Joe Dias.
“Health Minister Vishwajit Rane must first focus on Vaccinations and Testing and ensure that enough vaccines and testing kits are available in Goa. The need of the hour is to ensure patients gets beds, medicines and proper treatments in hospitals and not money making rakets of BJP,” he says.
