VASCO: A restaurant from a Vasco whose tap water was found contaminated has been shut considering the safety of the customers. Urban Health Centre Vasco and Mormugao Municipal Council awaiting the second test report for confirmation.
Urban Health Centre Vasco and Mormugao Municipal Council have been temporarily shut down a restaurant whose tap water was found contaminated with Coliform organisms in the first water testing report.
When contacted, Dr. Paresh Lawande, Health officer of Urban Health Centre Vasco, he informed that in the first test report of the water sample which was taken from the tap of the restaurant was found positive for the contamination of Coliform organisms which is unsafe for human consumption.
He further said that after discovering this fact, the restaurant owner was ordered to immediately stop the usage of the water of that tap and make alternate arrangements.
Later, when questioned about second test report, Dr. Lawande said that to reconfirm the contamination the second time testing of the water sample was sent to the laboratory. We are now awaiting for the report. Once we get the report further course of action will be done according’ he said.
Meanwhile, Mormugao Municipal Council Chief Officer Jayant Tari said that tentatively the restaurant has been shutdown for few days. We are awaiting the test results of the water sample” he added.
