ANJUNA: In an unexpected development, Anjuna police filed a report and a counter-complaint regarding the attack that took place at the Anjuna panchayat hall during the gram sabha meeting.
A strong opponent of loud music, Dr. Inacio Fernandes, filed a complaint alleging that during the meeting, he was attacked by a number of people, including Gajanan Tilve, Carlos Fernandes, Rohan Naik, Yogesh Govekar, and Seby D’Souza.
The accused shoved him, slapped him, punched him in the face and head, and inflicted minor injuries, according to Dr. Fernandes.
He added that during the event, he was illegally restrained and subjected to verbal abuse using profanity.
The Anjuna police filed an offense under Sections 126(2), 115(2), and 352 of the BNS 2023 Act in response to his complaint.
Gajanan Tilve retaliated by filing a complaint, alleging that Dr. Fernandes had mistreated him earlier that day in the vicinity of the Anjuna panchayat.
Tilve claimed that when he attempted to enter the panchayat to attend the gram sabha meeting, Dr. Fernandes physically attacked him and threatened to punish him severely.
In response to Tilve’s complaint, the police filed an offense under Sections 352, 351(2), and 115(2) of the BNS 2023 Act.
The Anjuna police are investigating both cases.
