CALANGUTE: Calangute Police busted an alleged cricket betting racket operating from a hotel at Cobravaddo, Calangute, during a late-night raid on Monday, apprehending 18 persons for their alleged involvement in the illegal betting operation.
During the raid, police seized several mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices believed to have been used for online cricket betting. The seized items are expected to be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
The operation was carried out by a team led by PI Laxmi Amonkar in the presence of SP Vishwesh Karpe and other police personnel.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of the betting network and identify any additional persons involved.
