PANAJI: Crime Branch of the Goa Police has busted an illegal online gambling activity in Calangute and has arrested five Chattisgarh natives.
As per information, the online gambling activity was taking place in closed premises at Annette Beach Apartments, Flat No.E-102, situated at Calangute Bardez-Goa.
The accused persons, namely Aman Agarwal, Rakesh Kumar, Sagar Bhagwani, Vishal Kumar and Karan Pakhani, all n/o Chhattisgarh, were caught red-handed while they were engaged in online gambling activity on close premises, as a game of chance by using laptop device, mobile phones and Internet connection with the router.
The Crime Branch found in their possession cash of Rs.3200/- in different denominations.
The value of the attached articles under panchanama was Rs 1.20 lakhs.
