PANAJI: The opposition said that the Dabolim airport is becoming a “ghost” airport as a result of certain airlines moving their operations to Mopa.
Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao brought up the matter in the State Assembly during Zero Hour, claiming that the change in operations will negatively affect both hotel owners and taxi drivers.
“With regard to the announcements made by the national carrier Air India, there is fear and anxiety among the tourism stakeholders, including taxi owners, hoteliers, and other businessmen, especially from South Goa,” he stated.
Alemao noted that since the airport’s commissioning, numerous airlines have moved their international operations from Dabolim to Manohar International Airport, and this trend is continuing.
