DABOLIM: Dabolim Airport Police have registered an FIR against BJYM Goa chief Tushar Kelkar and a few others in connection with the protests during Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s visit to Goa.
The FIR was registered following allegations of unlawful assembly and related offences during the protest at Goa International Airport, Dabolim. The case has been registered under Sections 189(2) and 189(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Congress Goa spokesperson Amit Palekar, however, has questioned the sections invoked in the FIR, alleging that stringent provisions relating to the alleged obstruction of the security convoy and confrontation with security personnel have not been applied.
Palekar termed the FIR “merely an eyewash” and demanded that Goa Police invoke appropriate sections and take stringent action against those responsible.
