VASCO: Uneven road tarring at Dabolim to Varunapuri national highway road turning a death trap for the commuters. Congress leader Nasir Khan urged government authorities to take up the work on an urgent basis before the monsoon.
Questioning the efficiency and proper execution of work related to National Highway road tarrying from Dabolim to Varunapuri stretch, Nasir Khan, Congress leader from Vasco, slammed the National Highway Authority for not executing the tarrying of this highway stretch properly.
Khan, in his comment, said that both the lanes of this national highway stretch are half tarred, giving this road partly elevation than the lower side of the road. This elevated road will surely go to cause vehicular accidents, especially two-wheelers, while using this road.
He also said that govt is spending crores of rupees on some functions like swearing-in ceremonies which could be done by spending a limited amount. Whereas the necessary public works that need to be done on an urgent basis are being neglected. “I appeal to the concerned authorities to immediately do proper tarrying of this highway stretch,” he said.
At present, both sides of this national highway are fully equipped with vehicles parked illegally. On top of that, the road is unevenly tarred, which has become a headache for most of the two-wheeler riders who travel through this road at a speed.
