MARGAO: Daivadnya Samaj, Margao felicitated meritorious students of Std X and Std XII from the Goa Board, CBSE and ICSE boards at a function held at Daivadnya Bhavan, Margao, recognising their academic excellence and encouraging them to pursue higher goals.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.
Welcoming the gathering, Daivadnya Samaj, Margao President Ramakant Raikar stressed the importance of education in shaping lives and urged parents to continue supporting their children in achieving their aspirations.
Chief Guest Prof. Venkatesh Raikar, Director of KLE Hubballi and former Vice Chancellor of Sanjay Ghodawat University, motivated students to pursue careers of their choice and work hard to succeed in entrance examinations and national-level competitive exams such as the UPSC. He also advised parents to carefully verify the credentials of universities and colleges before seeking admission.
Students from the community who secured over 85 per cent in the Std X examinations were felicitated during the event.
On the occasion, Shri Yoganand Nagvenkar of Marcel was presented the Dnyaneshwari Puraskar, while Dr. Swarali Bhaskar Verlekar was felicitated for successfully completing her MBBS degree.
Among the Std XII achievers, the overall toppers were Kanti Deepak Nagvekar, Minisha Samir Lotlikar and Adhvika Gurunath Shirodkar. In the Science stream, Shreya Mahabaleshwar Rivonkar, Harsh Laximon Chodnecar and Tanishka Subhash Kolvekar were honoured, while the Arts toppers included Tejal Santosh Vernekar, Ayushi Jeetendra Lotlikar and Prerna Deepak Shirodkar. Isha Narendra Vernekar and Avni Lotlikar were recognised as Commerce toppers.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Rohit Vernekar, Secretary of Daivadnya Samaj, Margao. The event was compered by Dipti Ashish Nagvekar and coordinated by Prashil Salkar, Coordinator of the Education Cell, under the guidance of Upendra Madkaikar, Chairman of the Education Cell.
