CANACONA: A woman has been booked by Canacona Police for allegedly stealing gold ornaments, valuables and important documents collectively worth ₹17.56 lakh from her in-laws’ residence at Dapot in Mashem, Canacona.
According to police, the complaint was lodged by Julie Carneiro, a resident of Chicalim, Vasco, originally from Dapot, Mashem. She alleged that prior to October 27, 2024, her daughter-in-law, Tamsin Sabina Tellis, a resident of Malad West, Mumbai, committed the theft from the family house.
The complainant stated that the accused allegedly removed gold ornaments, valuables and documents belonging to her, her daughter and her son without their knowledge or consent. The total value of the stolen property has been estimated at ₹17,56,440.
Canacona Police have registered a case in connection with the alleged theft. Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Ajit Velip.
