PANAJI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa In-charge Atishi Marlena today has filed a complaint with the Chief Election Comissioner (CEO) Goa against TMC and Congress over alleged sting operation video in which Congress &TMC Candidates are seen accepting bribes to join the BJP post polls.
Atishi also demanded the CEO to disqualify Churchill Alemao, Avertano Furtado, Savio D’Silva & Sankalp Amonkar and should be banned from contesting polls.
“We have filed complaint with CEO against the these candidates of Congress and TMC MLA caught have been caught red-handed taking money for defecting to BJP if they win the election.” said Atishi
She further said that the videos should be carefuly investigated and necessary investigation should be taken on these candidates.
“All these candidates have agreed to switch sides if money is given to them; this is clearly joke of democracy; They are fooling the people of Goa; these candidates are taking the people of Goa for a ride,” she said
Atishi said that the Congress is not at all ashamed to do such kind of tactics and the people of Goa are well aware of Congress of a party and its ambitions.
CEO Kunal IAS said that action has been initiated under Representation of People’s Act against the alleged sting operation aired by a television channel.
Congress leaders Savio d’Silva, Avertano Furtado and Sankalp Amonkar and TMC’s Churchill Alemao were allegedly in the video concerned. The news channel has since taken the video down.
However, the Congress rubbished these claims and stated that the Aam Aadmi Party and BJP were trying to ‘defame’ it using a ‘doctored video’ released during the 48-hour silence period before polling.
In an official statement, Goa Congress said, “A conspiracy has been hatched by BJP-AAP duo to defame the Congress and three of the party’s office-bearers. With malafide intention, through a news channel called ‘Hindi Khabar’, they have released a fake, distorted and doctored video during the 48 hour silent period. This is in violation of The Representation of People’s Act.”
