PANAJI: Police Inspector Sunil Gudlar has returned to active duty and has been assigned to the Government Railway Police (GRP), around 16 months after he was suspended and arrested in an alleged bribery case.
Gudlar was taken into custody by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on April 21, 2025, in connection with an alleged ₹2 lakh bribery case. He was later released on bail.
His return to service follows a transfer and posting order issued by the Goa Police Headquarters on August 6, based on recommendations of the Police Establishment Board.
The order cites “public interest” as the basis for the latest round of postings and transfers involving 21 personnel across different ranks, including head constables, police constables and two police inspectors.
Along with Gudlar, PI Razashad Shaikh has also been moved under the order. Shaikh has been transferred from the Economic Offenses Cell and posted to the GRP.
The reshuffle has also resulted in a substantial movement of lower-rank personnel attached to the GRP. Nearly 75 per cent of the head constables and police constables covered by the transfer from the GRP have been assigned to Vasco Police Station.
The latest postings appear aimed at adjusting manpower requirements across different units and strengthening personnel deployment at police stations.
