PANAJI: Directorate of Education has directed all Higher Secondary School, within its jurisdiction, to increase admission capacity by 15% across all streams for Class XI for the current academic year admissions.
“The Government has now decided and directed to permit every Government and Government Aided Higher Secondary School in the state to allow and admit additional fifteen percent (15%) students apart from their normal nominal intake capacity for the present Academic Year 2021-2022 as per the prescribed rule(s) in force,” the circular issued by Education Dept states
The department said that during the present COVID-19 crisis it was requested by the parents and the students to intervene in the matter of admission(s) in various higher secondary schools across the state and the problems faced by them due to higher number of students. passing in each section than usual.
The department has said that this present circular will be strictly in force only for the present Academic Year 2021-2022, for all the streams. viz. Arts, Commerce, Science and Vocational.
“No, additional financial grant(s) / incentive(s) or teacher will be provided to the schools,” it added
