PANAJI: Goa University organised its 35th Inter-Collegiate Athletic Men and Women Championship 2022-23 from 31st January 2023 to 2nd February 2023 at Athletic Stadium, Bambolim.
Around 1000 athletes from 46 colleges participated in the 3 days championship. Photo finish technology was set up for the first time at the competition.
Chief Guest for the opening ceremony, Prof. Savio Fallerio, Principal, Fr. Agnel College, Pilar, graced the occasion and declared the meet open.
Also, Guest of Honor Milton Fernandes, former Asst. The Director of Physical Education and Sports, Goa University, graced the opening ceremony.
And the Chief Guest for the prize distribution ceremony, Padma Shri Brahmanand Sankhwalkar, graced the occasion and presented trophies and medals to the winners. Teddy Cardoso of Don Bosco College, Panjim, registered a new meet record in 5000m Men with a timing of 14.50.95.
Best Athlete Male and Female of the championship was awarded to Moses Mascarenhas of Govt. College, Quepem and Kunika Harmalkar of D.M’s College and Research Center, Assagao, respectively.
