Emergency vehicles, including ambulances and fire services, will be allowed to use the original NH-66 route and service road without being affected by the diversions.
The notification also directs traffic police to regulate or halt heavy goods vehicles depending on prevailing traffic conditions. Authorities have been instructed to install signboards at strategic locations, ensure adequate lighting at diversion points and deploy traffic marshals to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles and construction machinery.
The contractor has also been directed to ensure that barricades and diversion materials are marked with fluorescent paint or tape for visibility at night. Awareness of the road closure and diversions will be publicised through print and electronic media.
