PONDA: Ponda Police have registered a case following a complaint by Aires Rodrigues of Dona Paula, alleging that he was cheated by a representative of Urban Packers and Movers over the shipment of two paintings to Portugal.
According to the complaint, between December 8, 2025, and August 19, 2026, the company representative, operating near Savitri Hall at Nagzar, Curti, allegedly assured Rodrigues that his consignment would be delivered from Dona Paula to Bobadela, Portugal.
The complainant handed over two paintings for shipment and allegedly paid ₹22,800 towards shipment charges as per the quotation provided by the company.
However, despite receiving the payment, the accused allegedly failed to deliver the consignment to the intended consignee. The complainant further alleged that repeated follow-ups to track the shipment and ensure its delivery yielded no result.
Police have registered a case in connection with the alleged cheating and failure to deliver the consignment.
Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Pratik Bhat Prabhu of Ponda Police Station.
