PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has requested educationists, academicians, researchers, principals, Professors to think out of the box and suggested not to rely on mere production of graduates and postgraduates but rather to think to create skilled manpower who can secure employment in various sectors.

He further said that almost 50 per cent of students in the state are sitting idle at home after finishing their graduation. The state will have to shut down some courses at the higher secondary level and refrain from giving permits to more B. A and B.Com colleges
“50 per cent students in the state are sitting idle at home after finishing their graduation; After post-graduation, they ask as to what they should be doing now and even apply for Multi Tasking Staff(MTS) type of jobs,” he added
He added that people come to him for sanctions to start B. A and B.Com colleges. “and I ask them why? Nearly 50 percent of the students per cent completing their graduation are sitting idle at home,” he added
