PONDA: Mardol Police have registered a case against a resident of Volvoi and around 12 others for allegedly wrongfully restraining two authorised representatives who had gone to conduct a drone survey of a disputed property at Volvoi on June 15.
According to the complaint lodged by Mangurish Pai Raikar of Dona Paula, Vinaykumar Pai Raikar of Tonca-Caranzalem and Ramnath Pai Raikar of Panaji, the three are the lawful owners of the property at Volvoi and had deputed authorised representatives Aniket Gadkar of Nerul and Sayed Suwaid of Panaji to carry out a drone survey.
Police said that at around 1.30 pm on June 15, the accused, identified as Girish Naik of Volvoi along with around 12 other persons allegedly formed an unlawful assembly and wrongfully restrained the representatives while they were carrying out the survey.
The complaint further states that an unidentified accused allegedly instructed the representatives to bring complainant Mangurish Pai Raikar to the spot and allegedly threatened to kill him over the property dispute.
Mardol Police have registered an offence, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Nitesh Kankonkar.
