VASCO: In a tragic incident , a 76-year-old man, identified as Francisco Xavier Eusebio Vas, a resident of Mangor Hill, Vasco, tragically passed away following a fall from the first-floor balcony of his residence.
The incident occurred on Monday, when Vas reportedly fell from his balcony.
He was initially rushed to SDH Chicalim for medical attention and later referred to Goa Medical College (GMC) in Bambolim, where he was admitted to Ward No. 120. Despite receiving treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.
A postmortem examination was conducted, with the police surgeon citing the cause of death as cranio-cerebral damage, along with fractures to the cervical and lumbar spine caused by blunt force impact.
The final postmortem report is pending chemical analysis of the viscera.
Police have indicated that no foul play is suspected in the incident.
The deceased’s body has been handed over to his family for final rites, and further investigations are being carried out by LPSI Archana Gaonkar of Vasco Police Station under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh
