SANVORDEM: An elderly man was found unconscious on the foot overbridge at Sanvordem Railway Station on August 23 and was later declared brought dead at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Curchorem.
According to police, a written memo was received from Sanvordem Railway Station at around 11.49 am regarding an unidentified elderly man found in an unconscious condition at the station.
Police visited the spot and shifted the man to CHC Curchorem, where the duty doctor declared him brought dead. During enquiry, the deceased was identified as Vithal Kutra, aged 70, a resident of Londa, Belgaum, Karnataka, by his son-in-law Anil Gaude of Batoda, Ponda.
An inquest panchanama was conducted and the body was referred to SGDH, Margao, for post-mortem examination. The Police Surgeon certified the cause of death as “multi-organ disease in a person suffering from Pulmonary Koch’s.”
The deceased’s body was subsequently handed over to his family members for the final religious rites.
The enquiry is being conducted by PSI Krishna Talpi of Vasco Railway Police Station.
