PONDA: An elderly pedestrian sustained serious injuries after being struck by a car in Bethoda on June 23, 2025.
The incident occurred when the driver of a Maruti Baleno, identified as Ratnakar Pujari (58), a resident of Bethoda, allegedly drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner.
According to a complaint filed by Head Constable Ramdas Gawas of Ponda Police Station, the accused was driving from Ponda towards Bethoda when he hit 67-year-old Makbulsab Hajresab Navar of Casarwada, who was walking along the road. The driver allegedly failed to exercise due caution before the collision.
The victim suffered grievous injuries and is currently undergoing medical treatment. Further investigation into the matter is being carried out by HC Ramdas Gawas of Ponda Police Station.
