Verna: A woman aged approximately 60 years died in a road accident at Seraulim in the early hours of Sunday. The incident occurred around 12:10 AM when a TATA Nexon (registration GA08AB1937), driven by Mr. Vigan Dias (35), a resident of Verna, allegedly struck the pedestrian while proceeding from Fr. Agnel Ashram junction towards Verna.
According to the police, Mr. Dias appeared at Verna Police Station shortly after the incident and reported that the pedestrian had hit the left side rear-view mirror of his vehicle. Upon verification, the police found an unconscious and seriously injured woman lying by the roadside.
She was immediately shifted to South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao by the 108 emergency services. However, doctors at SGDH declared her brought dead.
The deceased remains unidentified as of now. Verna Police have registered the case under Verna PS MVA 75/2025, and further investigation is underway.
