MARGAO: Goa is set to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure, with critical care centres planned at Goa Medical College (GMC) and South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has announced.
Rane said an emergency centre would be launched within the next 30 days as part of efforts to improve emergency response and patient care in the state.
The Health Minister also announced plans to establish critical care centres at GMC and SGDH, aimed at enhancing facilities for patients requiring specialised and intensive medical treatment.
In another significant development, a catheterisation laboratory (Cath Lab) is set to be started, further strengthening the state’s capacity to provide advanced cardiac care.
Rane further stated that the orthopaedic and neurology units at SGDH are expected to become operational before Christmas. The new facilities are expected to expand access to specialised treatment, particularly for patients in South Goa.
