PANAJI: PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar said that 5.90 Kms out of 11.90 kms of Western By-pass has been completed and opened for traffic while the balance work is targeted to complete by September 2021.
Pauskar also said that the Stretch of 2.75 Kms. is pending for which work order will be issued shortly to the appointed agency.
He further said that he additional funds required for balance work is Rs. 173.26 Crs. out of which Ministry’s share is 40.00 Crs. and the balance funds will be provided by the State Government.
“Request to reimburse State contribution will be taken up with the Ministry. The entire Western Bypass can be opened to traffic only after completion of balance work which will take 18 months from the date of issue of work order.” he said
The PWD minister further said that the extended target date of completion excluding descoped portion of 2.7 km is September 2021 and the cost overrun under ongoing western bypass work as on date is 46.73 Cr.
