Margao: A 50-year-old man, Bashir Ahmed, a resident of Chandrawado, Fatorda, was declared brought dead at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH), Margao, after he suddenly collapsed at his residence on July 20.
According to police, the information was received via a phone call from the casualty department at SGDH, where Bashir Ahmed was brought by a 108 emergency ambulance. Preliminary enquiries revealed that he had suddenly collapsed at home, prompting immediate medical attention.
An inquest panchanama was conducted, and the body was referred for a post-mortem examination. The police surgeon confirmed the cause of death as “Myocardial infarction consequent to occlusive coronary artery disease.”
The deceased’s body was later handed over to the family for the final rites. Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Sachin M. Patil of Fatorda Police Station.
