PONDA: Four years later, Ponda KTC Bus Stand has the new hot mix carpet coat.
It may be recalled that internal roads, parking bays and the road leading to the 30-year-old Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) bus stand at Ponda have been riddled with potholes for over four years as the file pertaining to the repair work and asphalting was stuck for an expenditure approval with the government.
KTC bus stand road is plagued with huge potholes at various places on the entry and exit road, besides parking bay is also plagued with potholes making it hard for bus drivers to proceed through it.
The Kadamba bus terminus in Ponda is a major interstate bus stand where commuters regularly occupy the premises for travelling to various parts of Goa. However, the KTC bus stands, parking bays and entry and exit roads were full of potholes and dangerous for commuters.
The work on asphalting began today in the presence of local MLA and Power Minister Sudin Dhavlikar and the Bandora Panchayat body.
Meanwhile, recently KTC bus stand shed got a new coat of Paint.
The roofing work of the shed is pending, and locals had warned to stage agitation on the issue giving eight days deadline. Floor tiling work is also pending.
