CANACONA: A boat lost in the Galgibagh sea was successfully brought to the shore and was pulled up to the Colomb shore.
According to sources, Cyclone ‘Biparjoy’ has [artly hit the Arabia Sea, and the Sea suddenly became rough. According to sources, the fishing boat got hit by the cyclonic waves while fishing for the prawns in the Galgibaga Sea and began to drift towards unknown locations.
Boat owner Sriranh Pagi and partner Santosh Thakkar who were on the boat at the time, found themselves lost in the rough Sea, and the panicked duo contacted Talpona Coastal Police on their mobile, requesting help to rescue them.
The Talpona Coastal police asked Karwar Coast Guard for assistance tracing the boat caught in the rough Sea.
Even as the Coast Guard led by Officer Yogesh Singh came in search of the fishing boat, the local fishermen finally managed to navigate the boat and brought it towards the Colomb coast, and with the help of a rope, anchored it at the Colomb beach.
Talpona Police inspector Navlesh Dessai informed both Srirang Pagi and Santosh Thakkar are safe and sound.
According to reports, the cyclonic storm, named Biparjoy, has developed in the Arabian Sea. On Thursday (June 8) afternoon, it was stationed about 850 km west of Goa and 900 km southwest of Mumbai. The cyclone is predicted to gain strength over the next three days and develop into a very severe cyclonic storm by June 13..
