PANAJI: Ribandar Police have registered an offence following a complaint by 32-year-old Mohammad Sadik, who alleged that he was assaulted by five unknown persons near V2 Mall on the Kadamba Highway at Ribandar on August 19.
According to the complaint, the incident took place at around 3.40 pm when the accused allegedly assaulted Sadik with slaps, fist blows and kicks over an issue related to video recording.
Police said four of the accused allegedly caught hold of Sadik’s hands while another person, wearing a light grey T-shirt and shorts, allegedly bit him on the left shoulder.
The complainant further alleged that the accused damaged his sunglasses, valued at around ₹35,000, during the incident.
Ribandar Police registered the offence at around 11.33 pm on August 19. PSI Manohar Dhulapkar is conducting further investigation.
