PANAJI: Forest Minister Vishwajit Rane today said that the state government will undertake an exercise using drones and cutting edge technologies to plant trees in places burned during the forest fires.

He further said that by developing a 5-year plan and other continuing plans that will be put into action by Goa Forests and that he was certain that we will achieve significant changes in next four years.
“In the past, trees were planted on a number of grazing grounds, depriving wild animals of the nourishment. As result, they have invaded fields with human habitation and damaged farmer crops,” he added
Rane also said that it is crucial for us to work with experts and make sure we are able to implement the forest management plan in a way that benefits our wildlife.
“Former PCCF and wildlife expert, Karnataka Govt. Mr. Luthra, and Sujeet Dongre, an expert member of GCZMA, will assist us on conservation issues,” he added
The minister also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the forest protection is a commitment, not a compulsion, and we will make sure that the department moves in the direction of his vision.
“We will have review meetings and visit various parks and wildlife sanctuaries in the state. We have a plan in place; we have already spoken to & DG Forest, C. P. Goel Ji, about a wildlife safari park,” he added
Meanwhile, Rane also said that he will be giving a detailed presentation considering the preservation of the state’s forests and the improvement of its biodiversity.
