Panaji: The first edition of Future Champions – Goa 2026 is set to provide an exciting platform for young badminton players to showcase their talent and compete across multiple age groups.
The tournament will feature four age categories: Under-11, Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17, giving aspiring players an opportunity to test their skills against competitors in their respective age groups.
In the singles events, competitions will be conducted in all four categories for both boys and girls. The doubles events will feature Under-13, Under-15 and Under-17 competitions for boys and girls.
The eligibility criteria have been defined according to players’ dates of birth. For the Under-11 category, participants must have been born on or after January 1, 2016. The Under-13 category is open to players born on or after January 1, 2014, while those born on or after January 1, 2012, are eligible for Under-15. The Under-17 category will accommodate players born on or after January 1, 2010.
The initiative aims to encourage participation in badminton, promote competitive opportunities and provide young players with a platform to develop their abilities through organised sporting competition.
