CANACONA : A new market complex is coming at Gaondongrim village built by Village Panchayat of Gaondongrim from the Golden Jubilee Funds.
Gaondongrim Sarpanch Dhillon Dessai in the presence of all the panchas and other prominent residents including elders of the village laid the foundation stone to construct a Mini-market ground plus-One floor complex with 16-rooms at an approximate cost of Rs.50 Lakhs. A mini-hall is also planned in the second phase of the project.
Government has approved the construction of the mini-market complex utilising the Golden Jubilee Funds with Panchayat, completed the tendering process and works are allotted to one M/s Damodar Constructions will be commenced soon after the Sarvajanik Ganesh idols immersion ceremonies.
Soon after the foundation laying ceremony all the panchas present lauded the Sarpanch’s efforts to bring and keep Gaondongrim village on developmental radar stating the mini-market complex will certainly give a push to the unemployed youth in shaping up their careers to some extent in the village itself.
Former sarpanch and sitting panch Ashok Velip stating such measures should have happened a decade ago, but sadly nothing happened gave full credit to the present sarpanch Dhilon Dessai for braving against all odds has successfully brought this much needed project for the benefits of the people of Gaondongrim village. ‘The present village panel (panch members) has a clear vision to work for the benefit of the villagers and the sarpanch has all the guts and Willpower to romp –in developmental works and schemes beneficials to the villagers at large.’
Another panch member said, without showing any discrepancies every member’s proposal moves ahead and Sarpanch sets the files in motion relating to all the wards’.
Sarpanch Dhillon Dessai informed that youths especially the freedom fighter’s family, (maximum 2 shops) willing to embark on different types of businesses will be preferred at the upcoming market complex, and thereafter for others like Milk Producers Societies and others. There is lots of unemployment amongst the villagers, especially the educated youths who are idle, and many who want to pursue businesses will get a platform to do so.
According to Gaondongrim Sarpanch the works are already tendered and work order is issued to one Damodar Construction, work will commence after immersion of Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav. Sarpanch informed the Mini-market complex to be named in the name of a freedom fighter from the village and the villagers will decide the freedom fighter name ‘
The pure intention is ot get the unemployed gets employment even if it means self-employment and the people at large in Gaondongrim and surroundings gets all their needs in the village itself.’.
