MOPA: Mopa Airport Police registered an offence on August 17 against a 46-year-old man for allegedly conducting gambling activities at Warkhand in Pernem.
According to the police complaint, ASI Shamba Rawool stated that at around 1.05 pm, accused Ulhas S/o Vasant Pawar, 46, a resident of Harijanwada, Warkhand, was allegedly caught red-handed near the Pernem Taluka Society branch while conducting a game of chance by accepting money from members of the public and issuing paper slips.
Police seized ₹450 in different denominations along with other gambling-related articles from his possession.
The accused was arrested at around 2.20 pm after observing the Supreme Court guidelines and was subsequently released on a personal bond after obtaining local surety at around 2.40 pm.
Further investigation is being conducted by ASI Shamba Rawool of Mopa Airport Police Station.
