New Delhi: Oman is positioning its ports, free zones and industrial areas as a gateway for Indian companies looking to expand into the Middle East and other international markets.
A two day business roadshow in New Delhi brought together Indian manufacturers, exporters and businesses to explore investment, manufacturing, distribution and logistics opportunities in Oman. The event was held under the theme “Your Gateway to International Markets.”
Oman’s Embassy has been engaging with Indian businesses to showcase the country’s commercial infrastructure and investment opportunities. The focus has been on helping companies understand how Oman’s ports and industrial zones can support their expansion into regional and global markets.
The roadshow also featured business to business meetings focused on potential investments, partnerships and specific commercial opportunities.
The engagement comes following the implementation of the India Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) from June 1, 2026. The agreement has added momentum to efforts aimed at strengthening trade and investment links between the two countries.
Sohar Port and Freezone was among the key facilities highlighted during the event. Its integrated port and industrial ecosystem offers infrastructure for companies involved in manufacturing, logistics and other industrial activities.
The facility has attracted more than $30 billion in total investments and handles over 72 million tonnes of cargo every year, underlining its role in Oman’s industrial and logistics network.
Oman is also seeking to attract more foreign direct investment by presenting itself as a stable base for companies targeting both the domestic market and neighbouring economies.
The latest roadshow follows earlier online engagements between Omani stakeholders and the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India. The latest initiative has shifted the focus towards direct discussions between businesses and potential investment partners.
For Indian manufacturers and exporters, Oman’s combination of ports, free zones, industrial infrastructure and access to regional markets is being presented as an opportunity to establish operations beyond India while maintaining access to wider international trade networks.
