ALTHINO: The Department of Information Technology, Electronics And Communications (DITE&C), Government Of Goa, has released the Draft Goa Ai Policy 2026 for public consultation, opening a 15-day window for citizens, industry stakeholders, academia and civil society to submit feedback and suggestions.
The draft policy outlines Goa’s vision and strategic roadmap for the development, adoption and governance of artificial intelligence across sectors. Formulated after consultations with industry experts and academic institutions, the policy seeks to establish a forward-looking and inclusive framework aligned with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, positioning Goa as a creative and technology-driven state.
The document places emphasis on strengthening Ai-related skills in the workforce, supporting startups and enterprises working in the Ai domain, encouraging investments, improving governance systems, and enhancing digital infrastructure across the state. The government aims to leverage these initiatives to generate innovation, create employment opportunities, and ensure sustainable economic growth.
As part of the consultation process, the government has urged all stakeholders—including citizens, technology companies, startups, educational institutions, and civil society organisations—to actively participate and contribute their inputs. Officials stated that public feedback will be crucial in refining the policy to ensure it is practical, inclusive, and beneficial to all sections of society.
The Draft Goa Ai Policy 2026 is available on the official Goa State Portal (https://www.goa.gov.in/) and Goa Online Portal (https://goaonline.gov.in/). Stakeholders can submit their suggestions via email at dir-dit.goa@nic.in within the stipulated consultation period.
Through this initiative, DITE&C aims to build a robust and inclusive Ai ecosystem in Goa, ensuring equitable access to emerging technologies while fostering innovation and digital transformation across the state.
