New Delhi: Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has extended his full support to the Goa Olympic Association (GOA) for the establishment of the proposed Goa Olympic Bhavan a visionary project designed to bring together the state’s sporting community under one roof. In a meeting held on Friday with a GOA delegation, Dr Sawant commended the initiative and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to accelerate its development in the interest of athletes and sports promotion across the state.
Highlighting the state’s growing reputation as a sports hub, the Chief Minister said the government would provide all necessary assistance to make the Olympic Bhavan a reality. The project, he noted, will serve as a milestone in fostering collaboration, improving infrastructure, and nurturing young talent in Goa.
The GOA delegation was led by Secretary General Gurudatta Bhakta, along with Treasurer Jayesh Naik, Taekwondo Association of Goa President Navin Pai Raikar, Kho-Kho Association President Sunil K. Naik, Goa Badminton Association President Manoj Patil, and GOA Member Sidharth Satardekar.
During the discussion, Bhakta outlined the vision behind the Olympic Bhavan, explaining that it will act as a central hub for the Goa Olympic Association and all affiliated sports bodies. The facility is expected to include administrative offices, training and meeting areas, and shared spaces to promote coordination and growth among different sports disciplines.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of the association, Jayesh Naik thanked Dr Sawant for his continued encouragement and proactive approach toward developing Goa’s sporting infrastructure. The meeting marked a significant step forward in the state’s mission to strengthen its sports ecosystem and provide world-class facilities for athletes.
