Panaji: A meeting convened by Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant with representatives from industries in the Verna Industrial Estate focused on strengthening local employment through enhanced collaboration with the Goa Human Resource Development Corporation.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasised the potential of GHRDC to act as a staffing partner for industries by providing skilled local talent, thereby promoting employment generation within the state. The proposal was discussed in detail with industry leaders and HR representatives from several companies operating in Verna.
Key industry representatives present included Kalpak Arware, President of the Verna Industries Association; Pramod Sulakhe; and Pradip da Costa, President of the Goa State Industries Association. Officials said their participation would play a vital role in linking the initiative with companies across the industrial estate.
Senior government officials, including Gurudas Dessai and Rajesh Ajgaonkar, were also present along with their teams.
The Chief Minister also announced that GHRDC, in collaboration with the Verna Industries Association, will organise a job fair on April 23, 2026, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the GIDC Hall in Verna Industrial Estate. He urged companies to actively participate, stating that the event will serve as a launchpad for strengthening industry-government collaboration and enhancing employment opportunities for local youth.
